What is the price for A kitten?

The price varies on a kitten-by-kitten basis but is typically from $2,900-$3,000 (plus sales tax). Some are more some are less. We have a unique breed look you won't find anywhere else and that's because our original studs and queens were imported from different countries in Europe (Germany, Ukraine and Russia). The only other place you can get a Maine Coon similar to CoonKingdom is directly from Europe (or a surrounding country) and thats going to cost you a fortune (over $3,800 for the cat, flight/shipping, paperwork, etc.). This is the amazing Maine Coon look people love and we work hard to maintain that feral large Maine Coon look everyone loves. We also place a very high emphasis on the temperament, we have a unique gentle loving personality that we breed for. All in all, pound for pound, and we can't emphasis this enough YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. Don't settle for that dull Maine Coon look.

Are your CAts and kittens pedigreed and registered?

YES all of our studs and queens are registered with the CFA (The Worlds Largest Registry for Pedigreed Cats) www.cfa.org

Our Studs and Queens have national and world champion bloodlines. Your kitten is a pedigreed purebred Maine Coon and can be registered with the CFA if you choose. You will receive the paperwork (called a blue slip) to register the kitten with the CFA. Registering is essential if you would like to show your kitten or simply want the official document to show your kitten/cat is pedigreed. The cost to register is $14 if registered within 30 days of purchase or $19 anytime thereafter. Registration can also be done online, please visit: https://cfa.org/online-individual-registration/

Do you test for Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM)?

YES, at Coon-Kingdom we test all of our breeding Studs and Queens for HCM using the UC Davis Veterinary Genetics Laboratory. All of our breeding Maine Coons are N/N meaning they are Normal and have ZERO copies of the A31P mutation associated with HCM in Maine Coon cats.

WHAT IS HYPERTROPHIC CARDIOMYOPATHY (HCM)?

Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy is the most common cardiac disease in cats. Affected cats are at risk of sudden cardiac death due to defects that produce increased left ventricular heart muscle thickness. In the Maine Coon breed, the A31P mutation in the cardiac myosin binding protein C gene (MYBPC3) has been found to be associated with increased risk for HCM. See the following link for more details: https://www.vgl.ucdavis.edu/services/cat/MaineCoonHCM.php

What is the process for getting a kitten?

We are no longer using a waitlist system and instead will post available kitties on the site as they are available on a first come first serve basis. Available kitties are at least 3 months of age when they are ready to go to their new homes.

We do not take deposits and you would simply pay the full amount AFTER physically meeting the kitty and have decided its a good fit. Please be very careful of scammers who will require a deposit or money before you meet a kitty in person. We've heard from at least 40+ folks across the years (and it seems to be on the rise right now) who lost hundreds of dollars this way.

There are many factors on availability. If we pair two cats it doesn't always mean we'll get a litter and if we do get a litter it could be 1 kitten or 9 kittens. Please check our site regularly if you are looking for a kitten. Click "Kittens for sale" tab or hoover the mouse over the "Kittens for sale" tab to see available litters and then the available kittens within each litter.
